(Chillicothe,
Ill.) Pearce Community Center is hosting its 23rd Annual Hardee’s Runfor the Health of It 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk on Saturday, July 9th.
The 5K course
has been certified by USA Track and Field. It will take participants through
the paved, flat streets of Chillicothe. Water will be provided throughout the
course.
The race begins
at 7:00AM with registration and check in available from 6:00-6:30AM. The 5K
race course and 2-mile walk will begin and end at Pearce Community Center. Breakfast
and the awards ceremony will take place in the banquet room immediately after
the race.
A free fun run
for kids will be offered after the awards ceremony at 9:30 AM. Kids are invited
to run 600 meters around Pearce beginning and ending at the front of the building.
Registration is not required; however, parents must sign a consent form. All
participants will receive a ribbon at the finish line. Children five and under
must be accompanied on the course by an adult.
Participants in
the 5K, two-mile walk, or kid’s fun run can use their participation to help
fill their Chillicothe Public Library Summer Reading Program game board to earn
prizes.
Register for
the 5K race by June 26 for only $15. Walker’s registration fee is only $10.
Premium moisture management race shirts may be ordered by June 26 as well for
$15. No shirts will be available to order after June 26 or available to
purchase the day of the race. After June 26, the race registration fee
increases to $25; however, the walk registration fee remains at $10.
Packet pickup
will be available Thursday, July 7 from noon to 5:00PM, and again on Friday,
July 8 from noon to 8:00PM for everyone who has registered by Wednesday, July
6.
