May
Member of the Month Mark Gregor came to Pearce in January to work with
personal trainer Gavin Sullivan to try to improve his ability to walk and
increase the use of his right hand and arm, functionality he lost during his
battle with brain cancer.
Before
he retired, Mark was a district fire chief and state certified ERT and CPR
instructor. He also drove semi tractor trailers coast to coast for many years.
He was a Big Brother-Big Sister volunteer, foster parent, and small railroad
investor. He still enjoys working on his
1/8 scale railroad.
Pearce
staff members chose Mark as the member of the month because of his incredibly
positive attitude.
“We
all have days that seem unbearable; however, you can achieve your goals if your
are patient, have an optimistic attitude, and fine something good about each
day,” says Mark. “Never allow yourself
to become overwhelmed or discouraged with the problems of life.”
